Spring Lake MI Real Estate

Spring Lake is a village that is in Ottawa County. The actual lake, Spring Lake is a 1,300-acre bayou in west central Michigan. It flows into the Grand River and the Grand River then flows into Lake Michigan.

If you want to access Spring Lake you have to go two and a half miles upstream from Lake Michigan. If you like to fish you will love the flooded weed beds that provide an excellent fishing habitat. There are huge pike that live in Spring Lake and in the Grand River. Bluegill and Crappie are also in the lake and the largemouth bass and smallmouth bass are present as well.

Spring Lake is bordered by the villages of Spring Lake and Ferrysburg. Spring Lake isn’t far from Grand Haven either. Grand Haven actually boasts the motto “Where Lake Michigan, the Grand River and Spring Lake Converge.” Grand Haven’s development began around the mouth of the Grand River on Lake Michigan. There are miles of water all around so there is plenty of room for boating. You can use hand powered boats or a motor boat.

Kayaks and canoes can slip past the weeds to explore the wetlands and check out the birds and other wildlife that live on the water. While there is all of this opportunity to see the wildlife there is still great opportunity to go to restaurants and nice places to stay. Anything your heart desires is right around the corner.

Spring Lake is known for its clear, spring-fed water. If you love to swim then this is a great place for you. Spring Lake is Spring Lake village’s number one attraction and tourism is the main industry here. There are dock walks, marinas and parks that attract boaters to these pure blue waters. Many people love to come here for summer vacation.

All of West Michigan’s shoreline has beautiful beaches. All the way from the Indiana border and on up north to Mackinaw City, Michigan you will love the beaches. Spring Lake is one of the best places to visit or reside if you enjoy the beach life.

If you visit Grand Haven you will be able to experience the famous “sing sands”. This is a unique phenomenon only to Lake Michigan beaches along West Michigan. Whenever you are walking on the sand you will hear little squeaks from the sand you are walking on. It is very interesting and unique.

There is plenty of shopping in Ferrysburg, Spring Lake and Grand Haven. You will enjoy the relaxing experience as you stroll down through the neighborhoods. There is even a century-old piano factory that is now a retail complex.

As you look at all of the different cities and attractions that surround Spring Lake it could be very tempting to visit but consider owning and enjoy the beauty year round.
